What I collect, and what I don't
Jerbot is one person in Texas. I don't show ads on this site and I don't sell anything about you to anyone. This page says exactly what I hold and how to get rid of it.
See also the Terms of Use and Beta Terms for the rules of the closed beta.
If you email me — directly or with the project questionnaire — I keep that email to reply and to manage your project. I don't sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list without asking. Ask and I'll delete it.
The short version
Rug Pulled! is in closed beta, so playing it means signing in with a free account. By default I hold your email address and a record of when you played. If you arrived from an ad or link, I also record the non-personal sign-up source label described below. Nothing else, unless you choose one of the three things below.
Your game saves never reach me on their own. Careers live in your own browser's storage on your own device. Signing in unlocks the game; it does not upload your play. The one exception is if you deliberately attach your roster to a feedback message — then I have the copy you sent me, and only that copy.
What I collect when you sign in
- Your email address. Used to send you a sign-in link. I don't use passwords, so this is how signing in works at all. I can also see which email addresses have signed up, so I know who is testing and can follow up on feedback.
- Play sessions. When you opened the game, which build you
ran, and a coarse note of your platform — something like
macos/chrome. Not a device identifier, not a full browser fingerprint. - Sign-up source. If you arrive from an ad or link, I record only where you came from (for example, "facebook" or "reddit") with your sign-up so I can tell which channels work. The source label contains no personal data.
Three things, only if you choose them
- Newsletter updates. There is an unticked box when you sign in. Tick it and I'll email you occasional updates about what's shipped and what's coming, and I record the moment you agreed. Leave it alone and you will never hear from me except sign-in links. You can stop at any time, and stopping doesn't affect your access to anything.
- Feedback you send me. If you use the feedback form in the game, I keep what you wrote and which build you were on. You can also attach your roster — careers, traders, Ka$h and items — so I can see what actually happened in your game. That attachment is a checkbox you can untick, and sending feedback without it works fine.
- Your device details. The first time you sign in on a phone or computer, the game asks whether you'll share what you're playing on, so I can reproduce bugs on the same kind of device. If you share, I keep the model you pick (browsers can't tell iPhones apart, so you confirm it), your operating system and browser and their versions, whether it's a phone, tablet or computer, your screen and window size, pixel density and orientation, whether it has a touch screen, your browser's language setting, whether you're in a browser tab, a Home Screen app or another app's built-in browser, and your browser's own description of itself (its "user agent", plus the device hints it offers). Feedback you send from that device then includes the same details as they were at that moment. It's optional, and skipping doesn't affect your access or your feedback — but only testers who share are considered for the tester reward (a free key for the paid release). If you skip, I keep only that you skipped, when, and a random ID the game made for that browser — no details. The random ID is not a fingerprint and isn't used to track you anywhere else. Device details never include your IP address, your location, or any advertising or hardware identifier. You can share later, or withdraw, in the game: Settings → Device info. Withdrawing deletes the details, including the ones attached to earlier feedback from that device.
Feedback goes to me privately. It is never published, never posted anywhere, and it is not a store review.
What I never collect
- Your game saves, unless you send them. Careers, traders, Ka$h and items stay in your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing uploads them automatically and there is no cloud save. The only way a save reaches me is if you attach it to feedback yourself.
- Advertising tracking. No advertising pixels are installed on this site or in Rug Pulled! today. I will update this page before installing any. I do not use advertising networks to track your activity on this site. When the sign-in check is on, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a browser security check, described below; it is not site analytics.
- Payment information. Nothing is for sale yet. When that changes, a payment processor will handle it and this page will say so.
- Anything about children. These services aren't directed at children under 13 and I don't knowingly collect their information.
Why I collect it
To run a closed beta. Knowing who is testing, how often, and on which build means a bug report can be traced to an actual version instead of a guess. The account also means that when Rug Pulled! reaches iOS, the same sign-in works there.
I don't use your email for marketing. If that ever changes I'll ask first.
Who else touches it
- Supabase — stores the account, the play-session records, feedback, and device details if you share them.
- Cloudflare — serves these pages and the game, and keeps standard server logs as any web host does. When the sign-in check is on, its Turnstile widget also processes browser security signals, including IP address, browser user agent, TLS fingerprint, and the widget's site key and origin, to distinguish people from automated traffic. Cloudflare says it does not access, store, or transmit form entries. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Supabase and Cloudflare provide services needed to run the beta. When the sign-in check is on, Cloudflare processes Turnstile signals to protect this site and may also use them as an independent controller to improve detection, as its privacy addendum explains. I don't sell your personal information.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is planned for jerbot.dev and rugpulled.jerbot.dev. If enabled, it will count visits and page views and measure page-load performance so I can understand use of the sites. It is separate from your beta account and play-session records. Cloudflare says Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data.
How long I keep it
For as long as the beta runs, or until you ask me to delete it. When the beta ends I'll delete the play-session records unless you've carried the account forward to a released version. Device details are deleted as soon as you withdraw them, or with your account.
Your rights
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the game: Settings → Account → Delete account. It happens immediately and it can't be undone. The game offers to download your careers first — take the download if you want to keep them.
Deleting removes your email address, every play-session record tied to it, your device details, and any feedback you sent me — including a roster you attached to it.
Your game saves aren't affected. They're on your device, not mine, and clearing your browser data removes them. The only copy I could ever have — a roster you chose to attach to feedback — goes with the account.
You can also ask me to show you what I hold, or correct it.
If you cannot use the in-game deletion control, email [email protected] to request account deletion.
Email [email protected] and I'll handle it. I'm one person, so allow a few days.
Depending on where you live — the EU, UK, or California, among others — you may have additional statutory rights. Ask and I'll honour them.
Rug Pulled! is a game, not financial advice
Rug Pulled! is fiction. The market is simulated, the tickers are invented and the companies are parodies. Nothing in it is a real security, nothing that happens in it reflects any real market, and none of it is investment advice, a recommendation, or a prediction.
Strategies that work in the game are tuned to make the game good. Do not trade real money on the basis of anything you learned here.
Changes
If what I collect changes, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you have an account, I'll email you.
